WHY SHOULD I JOIN AK PENPALS?
The purpose of AK PenPals is not only to better understand cultural norms around the world, but also to create a safe space to explore new cultures.
Our club has three main goals:

Make friends around the world

Practice new languages

Discuss global events, and share our pen pals’ experiences as teens in different countries
Pen pals have many advantages — if you are looking to go to college in another country this could be a great opportunity to learn more about how another country's school system works, or how teenage life differs there.
THE PURPOSE OF OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS
But Why Not Just Get A Pen Pal Alone?
Yes, AK PenPals is a pen pal club, but we go beyond simply sending letters. We come together each month to share our experiences with our pen pals and expand our worldview as Americans.
Each meeting will focus on a specific country’s customs / culture, and people with penpals (or family) from this country can talk about their experiences.
We will bring in corresponding food / crafts, and always try to conclude with a fun game or Kahoot related to the country.
